Lagrein is considered the oldest native grape of Trentino/Alto Adige. Once obscured from the rest of the world, it’s now one of the most renowned red varietals of Northen Italy, and is seeing a renaissance worldwide.
Lacrima di Terra (Teardrop of Earth), is crafted from Conte family Lagrein grown in the Mediterranean climate of McLaren Vale, producing an intensely deep purple, rich and chocolaty, black fruited, mouth filling wine. This unique example expresses both the fresh, ripe flavours of the grape and the full bodied voluptuousness of its wine. Just 20 days from vine to bottle, the natural carbon dioxide has been retained from fermentation, giving the majority of gas in this sparkling style.
To retain maximum characters this wine is made with minimal fining and filtration and a small amount of natural harmless sediment may be present.
