Made by Danial Conte, using vines planted by the Conte family in 1993.
Most noted from the Vulture wine region of Basilicata in Southern Italy (where Maria Conte’s family originated), the similar semi-arid Mediterranean like climate of McLaren Vale honours the origins of this intriguing and noble wine.
Expressing the unique combination of characters with cherry tobacco, sweet/suede leather, earthy minerality, wild red berries and Italian herbs, it is truly the inspiration for taking a Nuovo Cammino (A New Path)
Vinification
Picked cool, semi crushed, open fermented 7 days, ferments managed with hand plunged only without ‘pumping over’. Matured in new & seasoned French oak barrels for 8 months before transfer into tank.
