The surname of Conte emerged in Italy around the 8th century. Born in 1910, Antonino Conte owned commercial vineyards in his hometown of Sassinoro, 3 hours drive south of Rome. Since arriving in McLaren Vale with his family in 1953, this enduring and venerable tradition has continued.
A pioneering carriageway of McLaren Vale, Hunt Road borders this Cabernet vineyard. In contrast to its name, Hunt Road remains a tranquil site. Lined by vines and eucalyptus trees, and just as often frequented by wildlife than by traffic.
This wine has characters of blackberry, cedar & eucalypt, along with subtle vanillin undertones and smooth tannin.
